Kuma uses Bamboo and creates a curving landcape and incorporates the two together to create this interesting piece. This was showcased at the Milan furniture festival in April last year. I love the cascading strata surrounding the plants made out of beautiful grey/blue coloured stone, the smooth curves resemble the flowing forms of water.
“The clean and pure Pietra Serena stone is used so as to recreate a topography that, as in real landscapes, moulds the shape of water, guides our walking and gives a context to the objects to better admire them,” says Kengo Kuma and Associate

The timeless design reminds me of a japanese garden or a pond, the style would be perfect for a meditation area or garden. I hope to see a lot more from Kengo Kuma this year.
